Birthday celebration for teen murder victim

Friends and family will celebrate the birthday of drive-by shooting victim Tara Romero today at the scene of her death.
Those who want to join the celebration of Romero’s life can meet at Cosmo and Del Monte avenues at 5 p.m. Friends and family will release birthday balloons into the sky and sing ‘Happy Birthday,’ said Romero’s mother Annette Nevarez.
After that, the group will have a birthday dinner at 6 p.m. at Dutchman’s Pizza, 16375 Monterey Rd.
Romero would have been 15 today. She was shot and killed Nov. 4, 2011 in the shooting at Cosmo and Del Monte avenues.
Three other teens – Romero’s friends – were shot and suffered injuries during the same incident. Police think the group was mistakenly targeted by the alleged shooters who were arrested the same night.
