The 2017 Morgan Hill FreedomFest organizers are in need of sponsors and donations to make the weeklong Independence Day festivities possible again this July.
It takes over $204,000 and more than 500 volunteers each year to organize and produce the entire Independence Day celebration, according to organizers.
“We rely entirely on the support of patriotic citizens like you and local businesses and corporations to fund the festivities,” the FreedomFest announcement states.
Sponsors can donate online at mhfreedomfest.com or send a check made out to FreedomFest, P.O.Box 1776, Morgan Hill, CA 95037.
The Independence Day Celebration dates back to 1876. The entire multi-day celebration, which is organized by the nonprofit Independence Day Celebrations, includes a car cruise and show, the Fourth of July parade and Fireworks on the Green. A July 3 street dance and Patriotic Sing performed by local children are also part of the festivities.
This year’s theme is “America’s National Parks,” in honor of the 100 years of beauty and memories these natural wonders of the world bring to the many generations who have enjoyed them, according to organizers.
“Our event is truly a hometown celebration dedicated to preserving our national and local heritage and most important, celebrating our freedom as citizens of the United States,” the FreedomFest announcement states.
