Who Benefits from Staying in Iraq?
Dear Editor,
Who benefits from staying in Iraq until 2010? Not the Iraqi people. Not the brave American troops stranded in the quagmire. President George Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney may be rewarded by their friends with lucrative contracts in Iraq. Their friends with the contracts will certainly benefit. I hope Bush supporters who claim we will be safer from terrorists are correct but it will not be due to the sacrifice of additional American lives. The only gain for the American people seems to be a record national debt that continues to grow.

Gavilan Trustee Thanks Voters For Re-election
Dear Editor,
I want to thank all of my supporters for re-electing me to the board of trustees of Gavilan College.
Over the years I have worked with the other board members to make Gavilan College a great learning institution in the vocational and the academic fields.
We have a balanced budget with a strong reserve. We have staff with high morals. We have a strong board dedicated to bringing two new campuses to our communities in Morgan Hill and Hollister.
We have an exciting future ahead of us. Working together we will provide our students the necessary tools for learning and achieving success.
Again, thank you for giving me this opportunity to serve you.

Dear Editor,
I would like to thank the voters of Morgan Hill who supported me in my mayoral bid. What makes our country so great is that concerned citizens express their views by electing representatives. The founding fathers of our country wrote the Constitution of the United States to establish this republic. Their faith in the vote of the people, faith in God and belief in self governing has made America the greatest country in the world. I am a better person for the process of running for mayor of this great city. I want to thank all of you that supported my campaign and the tremendous efforts that were put into this race to make all of the candidates finalize their opinions before the election. We should know what the candidates stand for and hold them accountable when elected. I encourage us all to get behind our elected officials and help them in any way we can for a better Morgan Hill.
