Tickets are now available for Harvest for Heroes 2017, a benefit for the U.S. Veterans Program at One Step Closer Therapeutic Riding, according to a June 27 announcement.
The fundraiser will be held 4 to 9 p.m. Aug. 26 at the historic Villa Mira Monte, 17860 Monterey Road in Morgan Hill. The keynote speaker will be Major Scott Huesing (ret.) from the U.S. Marines Echo Company. Major Huesing is author of “Echo in Ramadi,” and he will share the experiences of Marines in the second battle of Ramadi that took place in 2006.
Live music and line dancing by the Country Cougars will also be part of the evening’s entertainment. Dinner will be catered by Reina Carrillo of the Grinds, Vines & Automobilia Cafe. A silent auction will also take place at the event.
One Step Closer provides equine-assisted therapy to more than 300 U.S. Veterans per year at no charge. All operating expenses are covered by grants and donations, and Harvest for Heroes is the primary fundraiser each year.
Seating this year will be outdoors under tents so everyone can see and hear the speakers and live music, according to organizers. The silent auction will move indoors, along with local wines being served.
Space is limited. Tickets ($50 per person or $400 for table of 8) can be purchased at eventbrite.com/e/harvest-for-heroes-2017-tickets-34184796647.
