Members of “I Love Morgan Hill,” a charitable arm of the local Cathedral of Faith congregation, passed out groceries to some 230 qualified families as part of their “Reaching Out Food Program,” which was held March 8 at the Morgan Hill Community Center.
The group partners with Second Harvest Food Bank to pass out groceries once a month to families with children, according to lead organizer Josie Scott.
“We currently have 230 families enrolled in the program but would like to get the word out to families regarding availability of this service in hopes they qualify,” Scott said.

Making prom special for all
The same group—I Love Morgan Hill—is organizing another special event titled “Princess Closet: Empower. Respect. Love.” for girls who can’t afford to go to prom by providing dresses and makeovers.
They have set up a prom dress donation box at the MH Community Center for folks to drop off new or gently used prom dresses. Organizers are also asking local hairstylists to donate their time and skills for hair, makeup and nail services.
The event, which also includes special raffles and giveaways—including a hair and makeup appointment for prom day—will take place 5 to 8 p.m. March 20.
Any low-income families with teenagers (ages 16-18) who want to take advantage of this opportunity can email Tiffany Garcia at The
