Lugarda Garcia of Morgan Hill and her 3-year-old daughter Melissa chose a San Francisco Giants backpack at the Aug. 8 giveaway hosted by Cathedral of Faith and the nonprofit I LOVE Morgan Hill.

Members of “I Love Morgan Hill,” a charitable arm of the local Cathedral of Faith congregation, are asking for volunteers to help them distribute groceries to hundreds of needy families as part of their “Reaching Out Food Program” scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 8 at the Morgan Hill Community Center.
The group partners with Second Harvest Food Bank to pass out groceries once a month to families with children, according to lead organizer Josie Scott.
“We currently have 230 families enrolled in the program but would like to get the word out to families regarding availability of this service in hopes they qualify,” Scott said. “We need volunteers to help set up and pass out the food.”
The MH Community and Cultural Center is located at 17000 Monterey Road.
