The Morgan Hill Values Youth Conference returns to the Community and Cultural Center from 10 a.m. to noon Jan. 21.
The conference is designed to “provide valuable opportunities for parents, grandparents, youth workers, businesses or just about anyone looking to impact our youth in a positive way,” according to the event brochure.
The free event, which is open to youth, parents/guardians and adults working with youth in the community, has a goal for attendees “to build their family connections and join their voices to empower youth in our community.”
Numerous organizations will be on hand to provide resources and information about the services offered in the community. Attendees will have a chance to interact with high school age youth as part of a Youth Panel that will share their experiences living in Morgan Hill and at attending Morgan Hill schools.
“They will provide a unique perspective for attendees to ask candid questions regarding the challenges faced by youth today,” according to organizers.
Lunch will be provided for all registered participants at no cost. Register at mhyouthconference.com. Prizes will also be raffled off at the event from local organizations and businesses.
The Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center is located at 17000 Monterey Road.
The event also awards individuals and community organizations that have gone beyond their civic responsibility to develop skills in our youth. Categories are School of the Year; Business of the Year; Youth Serving Organization of the Year; and Adult Role Model of the Year.
It is sponsored locally by Morgan Hill Unified School District, the City of Morgan Hill, Community Solutions, Project Cornerstone, TeenForce, Healthier Kids Foundation Santa Clara County, Discovery Counseling Center, Living Above the Influence, Schools Linked Services, the YMCA and Santa Clara County Public Health.
Anyone interested in volunteering, donating or sponsoring, or applying to have a booth for the event should call (408) 782-9154 or email at [email protected].
