Live Oak roller hockey closing in on first place Monte Vista;
take on Los Gatos in final season game
Morgan Hill – Live Oak has seven wins under their belt and two losses. Only one point separates them from the 1st place Monta Vista team with one game left in regular season action.
They played another outstanding game on Friday against Fremont, currently in sixth place, and came away with the 7-1 victory.
Goalie senior Ricky Lasher had a near shut out game. Fremont scored their lone goal in the first few seconds of the game, but that was all that Live Oak would allow. Ricky was outstanding in the net and had constant support from his defensive line.Â
On offense, seniors Robert Kotval scored two goals and one assist, Dustin Holt scored two, and Chase Norman scored one and had one assist. Juniors Kyle Dutra scored two goals and one assist, Brian Costello scored one and one assist, and Conner Williamson had one assist. Â
Last week Live Oak had a 10-5 victory over seventh place Milpitas. Costello gave Live Oak four goals and three assists and Dutra scored three goals and had one assist. Williamson scored one and added an assist, and Scott Alexander scored one goal for Live Oak.
Junior Tyler Damron has been consistent in his hustle on the rink and along with sophomores Michael Widergren and Kyle Widergren have made their value to this Live Oak team clear.Â
Live Oak will face off against Los Gatos, currently in fifth place, on Friday at 7pm at RollinIce for their final game of the season before heading into the playoffs. The RollinIce rink is located at the San Jose Fairgrounds.
