Live Oak High School FBLA members recently returned from the
Annual Bay Section Leadership Conference at Westmoor High School in
Daly City with some top awards. There were about 400 students and
advisers in attendance from throughout the Bay Area.
Live Oak High School FBLA members recently returned from the Annual Bay Section Leadership Conference at Westmoor High School in Daly City with some top awards. There were about 400 students and advisers in attendance from throughout the Bay Area.

Tiffany Shyuan won a fifth place award in Public Speaking II while explaining how FBLA and her experiences in life have helped her achieve confidence and the ability to speak in front of a gathering.

Simmi Dhillon took third place in the Job Interview section where students applied for a fictitious job.

The event included a paper screening for the written portion (resume, cover letter, and job application) and an oral interview.

Michele Dragoescu won a third place award in FBLA Principles and Procedures and second place for the Creed Contest.

The FBLA Principles and Procedures event tested students on FBLA trivia, history, and parliamentary procedure. The Creed Contest required students to memorize and recite the FBLA Creed and explain the importance and meaning of it.

Minna Chan came in fourth in Word Processing II where competitors mastered the art of business correspondence and how to properly format business documents.

Kerstin Bowen, who placed second, and Brenda Le, who placed first, also competed in this event, taking the top honors in the entire Bay Section for Word Processing II.
