Update: The Doggie Dip Day event will not be in any pool that is currently used for swimming, according to an email from the Morgan Hill Aquatics Center. The event will take place at the Aquatic Center’s Summer Recreation Pool, which is currently closed and will not reopen until the 2014 summer season.
Rest assure, following the event the pool will be drained and cleaned for future use,” reads an e-mail from the Aquatics Center, which intentionally scheduled the event prior to the annual cleaning. “We also want to assure you that the event will be well managed and not cause any damage to any of the facilities at the Aquatics Center.”
Dog-lovers rejoice!
The inaugural Doggie Dip Day will be held Oct. 19 at the Morgan Hill Aquatics Center located at 16200 Condit Road in Morgan Hill.
Small Dogs, under 50 pounds, are invited to come swim from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Large dogs, over 50 pounds, are welcome from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
With the summer recreation season coming to a close, the Aquatics Center will allow dog owners to bring their furry friends for a dip in the pool.
Entry fee is $5 per dog, which includes one handler, plus an additional $2 each per person. There is a two-dog limit per handler, who must be 16 or older, and the owner must bring proof of required vaccines.
