San Benito County supervisors Tuesday are set to honor two flight nurses who helped to save the life of a pedestrian struck by a car in San Benito County on Christmas Eve.
The county board is set to meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the County Administration Building, 481 Fourth St. in Hollister.
According to an announcement from CALSTAR, flight nurses Michelle Starbuck and Ashley Johnson will be honored at the board meeting. Though Johnson is no longer with CALSTAR, she and Starbuck conducted “life-saving treatment and rapid transport” for a pedestrian Dec. 24. The pilot, Paul Towell, also will be honored.
They are among 47 first responders to be honored as a part of National Emergency Services Week.
Sponsored by the American College of Physicians, this year’s theme is: “EMS. One Mission. One Team.” Each honoree will be presented with a certificate of appreciation and a San Benito County hero’s pin, according to the announcement.
Look back for more.
