Parents wanting to get involved with Morgan Hill Schools can apply for the Citizen’s Bond Oversight Committee this week.

In accordance with Prop 39, the Morgan Hill Unified School District is forming a committee of citizens tasked with reviewing and reporting on the district’s spending of Measure G funds.

Voters approved the $198 million Measure G bond in November 2012 with a 64 percent vote. The money will be used for capital improvements and is controlled by the school district and not the state or federal government.

Applications for the committee will be open from Jan. 16 until 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 23, and can be found on the district website www.mhu.k12.ca.us or at the district office, located at 15600 Concord Circle.

After the application deadline, the school board will select seven community members to complete the committee. A full list of the requirements and responsibilities for the committee is included with the application. For more answers to questions, contact the MHUSD facilities department of the district office at (408) 201-6087.
