The Morgan Hill Unified School District, in conjunction with the Morgan Hill Federation of Teachers, invite all parents, community members and educators to their “Morgan Hill Educational Summit: Support Our Schools” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Sobrato High School Performing Arts Center.
Topics to be discussed are: Educational equity for all students; the impact of poverty on our students; adequate funding for a well-rounded public education; and support and retention of highly qualified educators.
David C. Berliner, a Regents’ Professor of Education at Arizona State University, is slated as the keynote speaker for the educational summit. Berliner also taught at the University of Arizona, the University of Massachusetts, Teachers College and Stanford University, as well as universities in Australia, Canada, The Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland. He has published more than 200 articles, technical reports and authored many books including his latest, “Collateral Damage,” which analyzes the effects of high-stakes testing.
