Team to begin playoffs Friday
The Live Oak roller hockey team went 2-1 in the past three weeks and were tied for third place going into Friday’s game against Monta Vista, which will be the final match up of the regular season.
Friday’s contest was the first meeting of the season between the two schools, who were tied for third place coming into the game.

Druing the later weeks of May, the team scored a combined 25 goals, including a 13-10 victory on May 12 against Los Gatos High School.
On offense, Junior Brian Costello started things off for Live Oak with the first goal shot in unassisted. Defender Junior Scott Alexander followed with the second goal off an assist from Costello.Â
Team mate Junior Conner Williamson slammed one in off an assist from Junior Kyle Dutra. Dutra scored the next 2 goals off assists from Senior Alex Prado.
Most recently, on May 26, the team defeated St. Lawrence High School 7-4.
Junior Brian Costello led the way with three goals. Trailing him was junior Kyle Dutra who added two goals of his own. Rounding out the scoring on the night was junior Conner Williamson and senior Dustin Holt.
Holt added an assist for two points on the night.
The win came off a one goal loss to Westmont High School May 19 with the Acorns falling 5-4.
Live Oak jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the game, with goals scored by seniors Chase Norman and Alex Prado.
Westmont, however, overcame the deficit, tacking five on to the score board.
The Acorns attempted a comeback with Dutra and Norman both scoring, but were unable to retake the lead.
