The days left of high school can now be counted on one hand. It’s hard to believe that the journey that started 13 years ago will finally come to an end as the Live Oak High School Class of 2006 finally graduates.
Though this last week of school is packed with activities, it will fly by. Seniors finished their last finals on Monday. Freshmen, sophomores and juniors begin theirs on Tuesday, so study hard.
Graduation practice is at 9am on the field on Tuesday. Seniors should have all their teachers sign them out, pay all their fines and be ready to check out with the counselors by Wednesday at 9am. The buses for the senior trip to Disneyland leave at 1pm on Wednesday and will return around 1pm on Thursday. The final, mandatory graduation practice is Friday at 9:30am.
Friday, June 16, is a day that all graduate s and their parents have been anticipating for years. The day is finally upon us; graduates should meet at the tennis courts at 5pm for the 6pm ceremony on Reichert Field. The public is always welcome to attend this anticipated event.
Tickets can still be purchased for Grad Night and cost $85. Although the theme for this year has yet to be revealed, it will be an unforgettable night for seniors as it is every year. So, don’t miss out on this last chance to spend a safe and sober night with the senior Class of 2006.
As luck would have it, I wrote the last article on behalf of Live Oak’s Associated Student Body for this school year. High school has been an amazing trip, full of laughs, tears, unforgettable teachers and friends and an abundant amount of new knowledge. As the members of the Class of 2006 prepare to stretch their wings and leave the nest, I hope they remember to carpe diem – seize the day! And remember, we’ll always be acorns wherever we may branch out to; we just must always remember our roots. Congratulations Class of 2006 – we did it!
