Nimrah Aslam

Nimrah Aslam, an 18-year-old senior at Sobrato High School, is this week’s “Student of the Week.”
What inspires you?
The two people in my life that inspire me everyday are my parents.
Favorite subject in school:
My favorite subject at school is definitely band. Band teaches me so much more than just notes on a page. It has taught to be a better person through the people I have met and through my teacher.
If you had the power to change one thing in the world, what would it be?
If I had the power to change one thing in this world I would like to rid the world of extremists of any kind.
If you could go anywhere, where would you go?
I would love to go to Paris. It’s always been a dream of mine. I don’t really know why!
Name one big challenge in your life right now:
A challenge I am facing right now is playing first chair clarinet. I have a lot of solos but I am facing this challenge head on.
What’s your dream job?
My dream job would be to be a stock broker.
Your three favorite things:
My three favorite things are reading, hanging out with my family and friends, and listening to music.
Favorite book:
My favorite book is “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.”
Plans post high school:
I plan to go to college after high school.
Something that makes you smile:
My family makes me smile.
Top three songs on your iPod or iTunes:
The three songs I listen to the most are “Born to Die” and “Blue Jeans” by Lana Del Ray, and “Sweater Weather.”
