San Jose – Sobrato rallied for three runs in the top of the sixth inning Wednesday to edge host Mt. Pleasant 7-6 in a Blossom Valley Athletic League Santa Teresa Division game and snap a three-game losing streak.
Kevin Sullivan (2-2) went five innings, allowing six hits and striking out three to gain the win. Senior Antonio Davi pitched two scoreless innings with two strikeouts to notch the save.
Ryan Evanger and Bryan Yates had two hits apiece to pace a nine-hit Sobrato attack. Taylor O’Connell drove in two runs and Billy Hill scored twice and had a stolen base for the Bulldogs (4-5 overall and in league).
The teams traded first-inning runs and scored two each in the fourth. After Sobrato scored once in the top of the fifth, the Cardinals (5-4-1, 4-4-1) scored three in the fifth. Gabriel Robles had three hits and two stolen bases for Mt. Pleasant, which collected eight hits in the game.
The same teams meet at 3:30pm today at Sobrato.
