Six Acorns and two Bulldogs selected to All-League teams
Morgan Hill – The Live Oak Acorn and Sobrato Bulldog girls basketball team’s had vastly different seasons. The Acorns remained in contention for the playoffs until the last few game of league play despite battling health issues, while the young Bulldogs played hard, but went winless in league, but still earned their first playoff berth due to their non-league record.

Both teams, however, had players voted to the Tri-County Athletic League all-league teams.

For the Acorns senior Mattie Borges earned a spot on the all-league first team. Borges led Live Oak in scoring, averaging 9.8 points in 25 games and lead the team in rebounds with 231 on the season.

Voted to the all-league second team were Acorns Megan Gulla and Colleen Henningsen, and Laura Billos got the nod for the Bulldogs.

Gulla was second in scoring for Live Oak, averaging a solid nine points per game and led the team with 26 3-pointers on the season, while Henningsen averaged 8.7 points per game and had 161 rebounds on the season.

Billos was a force in the paint for Sobrato, often out-muscling opponents for rebounds. She also led the Bulldogs in free throws on the season, hitting 27 of 42 attempts.

Receiving honorable mentions were Annalise Curley and Sarah Goodere for Live Oak and Sarina Santiago for Sobrato.

Curley often provided a spark for the Acorns with timely steals. She averaged 7.6 points per game and was second on the team with 23 3-pointers. Goodere averaged 4.5 points per game for Live Oak.

Santiago was the offensive leader for the Bulldogs, averaging 7.9 points and leading the team with 12 3-pointers.

Santiago was also voted to the sportsmanship team along with Bre Campbell from the Acorns squad.

Campbell finished the season with 56 steals and 34 assists for Live Oak.
