The idea for an Encinal Elementary School class reunion arose
during a luncheon between two old friends – both in the Encinal
eighth-grade class of 1958. From there, the concept became a
committee and a school reunion of students who attended in the
1950s and 1960s is scheduled for mid-June.

“Many of the classes had less than 20 students in them back then,” said Janet Costa Hebert, who is on the organizing committee. The reunion is planned for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 11 at the Encinal site (now known as Charter School of Morgan Hill.)
Hebert added that many families moved after or even during elementary school years during that time, so a reunion seemed like an appropriate and fun idea. She’s hoping to reach more classmates soon.
Hebert was delighted to learn that her fifth-grade teacher, Mr. Bob Borella, is even planning to fly in from Colorado to attend the celebration.
