The Women in Business Luncheon will take place at 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Mama Mia’s Italian Restaurant at 275 E. Dunne Ave, Morgan Hill. Bereavement Support Group

The Bereavement Support Group meets from 6:30 to 8 p.m. the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at De Paul Health Center Conference Room, 18550 De Paul Drive, Morgan Hill. It is free and open to anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one.

Gavilan aviation classes set to begin

Students seeking careers in aviation can apply for fall admission to the Gavilan College program that is accredited by the Federal Aviation Administration. Fall aviation classes start Thursday. Open registration is now in effect. Fees are $36 per unit. Other Gavilan classes begin Aug. 31.

Free concerts for seniors

The Village Green of Gilroy invites all seniors 62 and older to their second annual Concert Series at 7600 Isabella Way. Concerts include Rita Beach (country music) from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Bill Martin (’60-80s music) Sept. 10. Concerts are free and refreshments will be served.

Interested in writing a novel?

Need structure to help get that novel started? Join local author Erika Mailman for a free 2.5-hour workshop. Come with a notebook and a few ideas. She will guide attendees through the process of brainstorming, outlining, and how to keep motivated. You’ll do two guided writing activities and leave with a solid idea for a novel, the beginnings of an outline and tips. The workshop takes place from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13 at BookSmart 80 E. Second St. It is limited to seven people and must be at least 15 years old; please preregister at 778-6467.

A batty trip at Calero County Park

Take a ride to the Calero Bat Inn from 5 to 7 a.m. on Saturday and 5:45 to 9:15 p.m. Aug. 27 at Calero County Park. Bring a small beach chair or blanket, closed-toe shoes, bug spray, layered clothing and a flashlight. Meet at the Calero Park office. Reservations are required.
