Emergency crews take a man to be airlifted after he drove a van

CCS playoffs start this week for basketball and soccer, and Morgan Hill is well represented with six teams advancing for the right to win a section title.
Sobrato will host a pair of home games to kick off CCS, as both the boys and girls basketball teams received the right to play before a friendly crowd.
The girls will be the first to get things going, hosting No. 12 Christopher 7 p.m. Tuesday. The Bulldogs were 15-9 overall en route to a West Valley championship. Christopher was 11-12 overall, but qualified thanks to going 6-6 in the Monterey Bay League’s Gabilan Division. The winner travels to face No. 5 Los Gatos 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
Sobrato’s second team, the boys hoopsters, turned some heads at the BVAL tournament, knocking off top seeded Leigh in the quarter finals. The Bulldogs were rewarded with a home game and a No. 8 seed to kick off the tournament Thursday.
Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Bulldog Gym against No. 9 Christopher.
Sobrato was 18-9 overall and 9-5 in the BVAL Santa Teresa Division.
Christopher got in to the tournament despite a 9-15 record thanks to a 7-5 nonleague mark. The Cougars won just twice in the MBAL-Gabilan Division.
The winner will advance to face top seeded St. Ignatius in the Division II quarter Finals.
Also receiving two basketball nods from the selection committee was Oakwood, who is sending its boys and girls squads in the Division V tournament.
The boys received a relatively low No. 6 seed, being seeded lower than the 9-15 Eastside College Prep, who won just two league games.
Oakwood will face the winner of Kirby and No. 11 St. Lawrence 7 p.m. Thursday. If the Hawks advance, they will have to take on No. 3 seeded St. Francis Cathedral at Alma Heights High School.
The Oakwood girls, meanwhile, will take on No. 2 seeded Pacific Collegiate Saturday at Santa Teresa. A time has not been announced.
Finally, the Live Oak girls sent a basketball team and soccer team to the tournament.
The Acorns basketball squad opens Tuesday at No. 11 Capuchino, with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m. The winner of that game advances to No. 6 Santa Cruz Thursday for a 7 p.m. tip.
Lastly, the Live Oak girls soccer team was rewarded for its second place finish in the MHAL with a No. 2 seed and a first round bye.
Live Oak (12-3-4 overall) will host the winner of No. 7 Scotts Valley and No. 10 Greenfield Saturday, at a time and place to be determined.
