Maryam Quasto, a 17-year-old senior at Sobrato High School, is this week’s “Student of the Week.”
What inspires you?
My parents because they came to the United States to build a better life for me and my brother.
Favorite subject:
I have always had a strong liking for math because I’m good with numbers. But I also love history, especially World History, because learning about different aspects of societies and cultures and how they have adapted over the centuries really fascinates me.
If you had the power to change one thing in the world, what would it be?
If I had the power to change one thing in the world it would be to establish more humane and peaceful societies.
If you could go anywhere:
I would love to visit Europe, especially Greece, Italy, France, and Spain.
Name one big challenge in your life right now:
One of the challenges I am facing now is school. Keeping up grades while anticipating college decisions is very nerve wracking. Also trying to get my license.
Dream job:
My dream job would be working for the United Nations.
Your three favorite things:
Cooking/baking, reading, spending time with friends.
Favorite book:
“Wuthering Heights” by Emily Bronte.
Plans post-high school:
I hope to attend a four year university.

Memories, cherishing the moments that matter most and make you who are.
