Fifty years after its initial theatrical release, Poppy Jasper Film Festival (PJFF) will screen the 1955 classic drama, “Rebel Without a Cause,” at 7pm on Saturday, Aug. 6 at the Morgan Hill Community Playhouse.

The “Rebel Without a Cause” screening is a fundraising event for the Poppy Jasper Film Festival, which takes place this November in Morgan Hill.

Tickets are $5 and available at the door. The Community Playhouse is located at the corner of Monterey Road and Fifth Street, at the southern end of downtown Morgan Hill.

WERC wants residents to do something wild

The Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center in Morgan Hill is currently accepting applications for volunteers who are available to work during the morning any day of the week. Duties include cleaning, feeding, and caring for injured, orphaned and sick native wildlife. All volunteers are required to be at least 16 years old. Volunteers working at our site work a three-hour shift at least once a week, and are asked to make a four-month commitment.

WERC operates under permits issued by the California Department of Fish and Game, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. It is the only facility in the South Santa Clara County allowed to care for native wildlife.

For more information on volunteering call 779-WERC (9372) or go to their Website at www.werc-ca.org.
