Paradise Valley and Machado Elementary School will be celebrating its “Healthy Choices” week March 15-19.
The Paradise Valley/Machado Student Council has planned a weeklong series of classroom activities to inspire students in making healthy life choices. In addition, a schoolwide fundraising contest to complete the purchase of our school safety fence will be held. A prize will be awarded to the winning classroom.
In coordination with the California Air National Guard “Team Hawk” special operations unit, Morgan Hill Police Department and the school, a special all-school assembly will be held at noon that Friday. Members of the greater Morgan Hill community are invited to the school for the March 19 event.
The “Team Hawk” unit will land an HH60 Pave Hawk helicopter on the Paradise Valley campus. The crew, including Captain Esther Bley, will participate in emphasizing personal and academic achievement and healthy choices.
Officer Max Cervantes and other members of the Police Department will join teachers and students in celebrating the Paradise Valley/Machado community of learners.
The week’s schedule will emphasize classroom activities focused on healthy choices.
The Student Council has organized the week:
• Monday: Substance Abuse Prevention
• Tuesday: Personal Pledges for Regular Exercise
• Wednesday: Make a Friend Day
• Thursday: Healthy Nutrition at School and at Home
• Friday: Random Acts of Kindness and Do a Good Deed Day.
