SCBA Spring registration

The SCBA basketball program is currently accepting applications for its Spring Program. The season runs from Saturday, March 6 to Saturday, May 22. Details: Jim Green 460-7402 or scbabasketball.org

MH swim club clinic

Signups and placements for the Morgan Hill Swim Club’s clinic will be held Wednesday, March 10 and Thursday, March 11 from 5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. The clinic will take place the following week.

Anyone showing up after the first clinic is filled will be put on the waiting list for the second clinic to be held in early May. Swimmers should be able to swim one length of the pool, wear a swimsuit, and bring a towel. The cost of the clinic is $15 for the week, and includes a Morgan Hill Swim Club t-shirt and swim cap.

Swimmers not wanting to wait for the clinic are encouraged to try out for the team Mondays through Fridays at 5:30 p.m. at the Live Oak High pool.

Interested adults may participate in the morning masters swim sessions held at 5:15 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Live Oak High pool. The cost for masters is $5 per day or $45 per month.

AAUW wildflower run

The 21st annual AAUW Wildflower Run will be held on Sunday, March 28, 2004, starting at Live Oak High School, 1505 E. Main Avenue, Morgan Hill. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. 2K kids run (12 and under)-8:30 a.m. 10K run (USATF certified)-9:00 a.m. 5K run/walk-9:10 a.m. Cost is $25, or $22 before March 20. Cost for a family is $50. The run/walk course is flat terrain on paved roads in the country around Morgan Hill. Proceeds fund scholarships for women. T-shirts, medals, and prizes awarded. MH Raiders signups

Signups for the Morgan Hill Raiders’ upcoming season will be held at Mountain Mike’s, on Saturday, March 6, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

All prospective football players and cheerleaders aged 7 – 15 are welcome.

Registration Fee: $175- 1st child, $150- 2nd child, $125- each additional child.

Our program was founded approximately in 1960.

Last year was one of our best, with two teams ( Jr. Pee wee and Midgets) winning regional championships.

Community-oriented athletics nurture the hard developed qualities of courage, determination, self control, and team work.

They will carry these qualities with them for all of life’s endeavors.

Specialized cycling clinic

Specialized Bicycle and Bay Area Women’s Cycling have announced their free women’s road cycling clinic to be held on Saturday and Sunday, March 6-7 at Specialized’s headquarters in Morgan Hill. The clinic will offer three tracks involving skills drills and classroom instruction, including: one for would-be cyclists, cycling enthusiasts and endurance riders; one for those interested in bicycle maintenance, bicycle fitness, bicycle advocacy and yoga for cyclists; and one for competitive racers. The clinic is limited to 200 participants. The clinic’s list of instructors includes Nicole Freeman, a professional cyclist who is a two-time U.S. national champion, former member of the U.S. Olympic Road Team, and founder of the Basis Women’s Cycling Team. In addition to the Specialized sponsorship, Trico Sports, Sports Basement and Victory Brewing Co. also sponsor the event. To register for the clinic, call (408) 782-5566.
