San Martin – “Happy Days” are here again.

The San Martin Neighborhood Alliance hosts its third annual Happy Days car show Saturday at the San Martin Country Park and promises scores of classic rides, great food, live music and thousands of dollars in prizes.

“It’s going to be fantastic,” SMNA President Sylvia Hamilton said. “I’m very excited that so many of our local businesses donated to the silent auction, and with the food and music, I’m expecting it to be a huge success.”

The car show will feature about 100 cars from 1975 and earlier vintages. The show is catered by Morgan Hill’s LaChoza Taqueria and Chilgetti’s Texas BBQ.

“Just thinking about what they’ll be serving makes me hungry,” SMNA board member Connie Ludewig said, dreaming of tamales and sausage sandwiches.

Among the items up for auction and raffle include a generator for camping, flying lessons, golf packages, pet care and many more. Music is by the Usual Suspects.

The event is from 11am to 5pm, Saturday, Aug. 20. The country park is located at the intersection of Monterey Road and California Avenue. Admission is $5. All proceeds benefit the SMNA’s drive to incorporate San Martin.
