Live Oaks 100th anniversary scheduled for Aug. 21
If the blood runs yellow and green in your veins and if the thought of acorns makes you “Go Nuts,” then you’ll want to reserve Aug. 21 on your calendar so you can join generations of Live Oak High School graduates and former students celebrating the school’s centennial.

“We’re hoping to see our supporters, our alumni, at the celebration, enjoying being together and sharing stories,” Live Oak High Principal Nick Boden said. “This event will bring to a close a year of commemoration of our history, and we hope many will come out and show their pride in our legacy.”

The gathering will be held on the Live Oak High campus, 1505 East Main Ave., from 3 to 8pm. Tickets, which include dinner between 4 and 6pm, are $35, and proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Live Oak Centennial Scholarship Fund.

“Not only a chance to have fun and reminisce with friends and staff, the celebration will also offer an opportunity to provide for the future, with the scholarship fund,” Boden said. “The high school has touched many lives, been a part of the fabric of the community for many years. In any given group of people in the community, you can be sure that at least one of them has some kind of connection to Live Oak. We invite everyone to come celebrate the contributions of the past and the promise of the future.”
