Los Paseos Elementary School teacher Lori Ross, selected as the Morgan Hill Unified School District’s 2015 Teacher of the Year will be recognized by the Santa Clara County Office of Education at the 46th Annual Teacher Recognition Celebration later this year.
Ross will be joined by 30 other top teachers from their respective school districts at the Oct. 1 recognition ceremony at the Heritage Theater in Campbell. Along with that, the SCCOE will honor recipients of the 2015 Texas Instruments STEM Teaching Awards.
Ross completed her 30th and final year as a teacher for MHUSD, all spent at Los Paseos, as she retired in June. Over the years, Ross has mentored younger teachers, assisted in the school plan, acted as program review coordinator, been part of the elementary curriculum council, report card committee, renaissance learning committee and coached the sixth grade girls after-school basketball team.
The event is considered the oldest and largest of its kind in California, according to organizers. It is co-sponsored this year by Texas Instruments and the Santa Clara County Federal Credit Union.
