A Youth Conference on Race and Social Justice catering to teens ages 13-18 is scheduled from 10:30am to 5pm Sept. 22 at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center (17000 Monterey St.).
Keynote speakers for the event are Enid Lee, an anti-racist educator, professional development specialist, leadership coach and writer, and Michael Harris, an attorney who works on reducing incarceration and racial disparities in statewide juvenile corrections systems.
Workshops will be led by Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), National Center for Youth Law (NCYL), Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) and Silicon Valley Faces.
The free event, co-sponsored by SURJ, Community Agency for Resources, Advocacy and Services (CARAS) and Morgan Hill Federation of Teachers, includes lunch for attendees.
