The Morgan Hill Police Department continues to investigate a
bomb threat called into Live Oak High School Tuesday. Officials
believe the call was made from a pay phone, most likely from one in
town. The caller ID shows a 702 Las Vegas area code, however, and
police are still trying to determine whether or not it was dialed
from a local pay phone, said MHPD Sgt. Jerry Neumayer. No new
information on the incident was released Thursday.

The campus was not evacuated Tuesday and law enforcement has deemed the threat not credible.

Bomb-sniffing dogs from the Sheriff’s office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives found nothing after searching Live Oak and the adjacent property. MHPD did station a school resource officer at Live Oak Tuesday.

Both local and out-of-state police and the Morgan Hill Unified School District are taking “necessary precautions to ensure that classes and school activities will continue as scheduled,” Principal Nick Boden said in a statement.

The spotlight has been pointed on Live Oak since May 5 when four students were asked to turn their American flag T-shirts inside out on Cinco de Mayo to avoid any confrontations, according to the district. Since that event at Live Oak, the story has gone viral reaching major national news outlet, talk shows, radio stations and online.

The district is currently investigating the actions of Boden and Vice Principal Miguel Rodriguez on May 5.
