Mike passed away on July 4th, 2010, at his home in Gilroy, CA after a courageous battle against cancer with his family by his side. Mike was born in San Francisco, CA on May 8, 1943, to Louis and Amalia Franceschi of Rocklin, who survive him. He also leaves his brother and best friend, Robert Franceschi of Rocklin. Mike was a loving father to his children Judi, Victor, Robby, his fiance Lindsey and Matthew. His grandchildren Aurelia, Brianna and Louis also survive their beloved grandfather. He will be missed by his cousins, Ernie, Tommy and Kathleen Giono, Susan Tonjum and Jackie McCall, and lifetime friends, Phil Waegner and Norm Colteaux.

Mike was raised in Marin County and was a graduate of the first class to complete all four years at Redwood High School in 1962. He played football and track while at Redwood. He was employed for the last 24 years by Redwood Empire Lumber Co. in San Jose. Mike was a lifelong fan of the Giants and Niners. He was watching the Giants game at the time of his passing, and regrettably, the bums couldn’t pull one out for Mikey. Mike was a great individual who will be missed, but never forgotten, by his family and friends.

There will be a graveside service at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park in Gilroy, CA on Tuesday, July 13th, 2010, at 2:00 P.M.
