Dear Editor, On behalf of the board of director of the Community
Law Enforcement Foundation, I would like to echo the praise from
the Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center in its letter as
they expressed their thanks.
Another thanks to those who help local nonprofits

Dear Editor,

On behalf of the board of director of the Community Law Enforcement Foundation, I would like to echo the praise from the Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center in its letter on Tuesday as they expressed their thanks to Cherisse White, her staff at Cherisse’s Hair Salon and Day Spa, and BookSmart for their generous support of our work through the Pet Wash that was held July 11. I would also like to thank all of the people who participated in the event and made it such a success.

As with other charitable organizations, we only exist though private donations and do not receive funds from local, county or state governments, we are grateful when the community comes together to offer support. Without that support, we would have never been able to purchase Pax, nor would we be able to providing for his ongoing food and medical needs. CLEF operates with volunteers only. It has no staff and its expenses are borne by the board members, so when Cherisse contacted us, we accepted rapidly.

Our community is only as good as the people who live and work here. Our local businesses and people like Cherisse are why Morgan Hill is such a great place to live.

So, thank you again to all involved. We are honored to have been included as beneficiaries in the dog wash.

Politicians who learn to fake sincerity get elected

Dear Editor,

The National Tea Party Federation recently expelled the Tea Party Express over how to handle racist views. Tea Party Express leader Mark Williams decided that it was time for them to be honest about their racism and say what they really mean. And he did so by writing a satirical letter to President Abraham Lincoln about what “colored people” want.

No, no, no says the National Tea Party Federation. You don’t call them “colored people.” That’s highly offensive. You have to respect them by calling them “people of color.” This is an election year and the National Tea Party Federation, made up of former Republican leaders like Newt Gingrich and Dick Armey, understand that overt racism doesn’t win elections. Their position is to hide the racism, stay in the closet and be politically correct. Don’t say what you really think. So the National Tea Party Federation expelled the Tea Party Express because they refused to lie about how they really feel.

So who is right? Do voters respect honesty or is it that smart politicians understand that you have to tell the voters what they want to hear. I say, they both are right. Honesty and sincerity is what wins elections. That’s what the public wants. So once you learn how to fake sincerity and honesty, you have it made!

Repeal ObamaCare and oust those who voted for it

Dear Editor,

It’s time to repeal ObamaCare and Congressmen Jerry McNerney, who voted for the plan that will take away the health insurance of millions of Americans.

According to a survey by Towers Watson, a human resources consulting firm, 88 percent of companies plan to pass on increased healthcare benefit costs to employees, 74 percent plan to reduce benefits and up to 12 percent (affecting millions of Americans) will drop all coverage for employees.

Retirees won’t fare well either: 43 percent of employers that now provide retiree medical benefits are likely to reduce or eliminate them (for more millions of Americans) thanks to the new healthcare legislation.

This October, up to half of seniors will lose their Medicare Advantage coverage (a program that allows seniors to receive additional services through a private health plan).

Do you remember what Obama and McNerney told us? You’ll be able to keep your health insurance and your doctors. These statements are off the manure meter and it’s time for these two dishonest politicians to be retired.
