For about a week, Morgan Hill had some foreign visitors, that after arriving in San Francisco, have traveled to a total of 42 countries, in a 19-year-old British taxi named “Hannah.”

The three lads, Paul Archer, 24, Leigh Purnell, 24 and Johno Ellis, 28 all from England hold the Guinness World Record for the longest taxi journey in history, broken in August 2011 in Tibet.

“Now we’re just smashing it,” said Archer.

Covering more than 30,000 miles so far, the expedition brought them to the mechanics restoration shop of “On the Road Again” on 16840 Joleen Way, which specializes in British autos and classic cars. By the time they return home in May, they’ll have covered nearly 45,000 miles.

Hannah, after only three flat tires worldwide, was in much need of some TLC to prepare for the American leg of the tour. After the three men left Morgan Hill Thursday morning, they headed to Santa Barbara, then to Los Angeles, with hopes to cross the boarder to their 43rd country of Mexico.

They’ve been on the road for over 371 days now, having started their journey from London on February 17, 2011. If the meter was running the entire time, this long taxi cab ride would have cost them a whopping $90,000. And that doesn’t include tip.
