Trail Dust BBQ will host Berkeley’s renowned sour beer company The Rare Barrel and esteemed Capitola brewery Sante Adairius for a beer tasting event billed as “Funk N Dank” from 2-6 p.m. Dec. 19.
The event, hosted at the 17240 Monterey Street restaurant in downtown Morgan Hill, is open to the public. Commemorative glasses will be available for purchase, entitling guests to discounted pours of featured beers.
Founders of both beer makers will be in attendance including SARA’s Adair Paterno along with Jay Goodwin and Morgan Hill native Alex Wallash from TRB.
The event will feature 10 different kegs, many of which are rarely found outside their respective breweries, according to the press release.
Featured pours include sour beers such as TRB’s Map of the Sun (a golden ale aged in oak barrels) and SARA’s Appreciation (a barrel-aged farmhouse ale fermented with boysenberries). The lineup of mostly sour beers will be balanced by a few hoppy favorites from SARA, including Dog Disco, a Pale Ale, and Simpleton, an India Pale Ale.
