Morgan Hill

More than $100,000 in merchandise was stolen from the Karma Couture Boutique early Tuesday morning, and the investigation is active, according to Morgan Hill police Cmdr. David Swing.

The suspect broke a window to get into the store, which has recently moved from the downtown area to relocate in Vineyard Town Center. Once inside, the suspect, perhaps unaware that he was being videotaped by a surveillance camera, loaded up on clothing, jewelry and electronics equipment.

Swing said the police department’s crime scene investigator was able to recover several items of evidence from the scene, and the investigation is active.

“We all feel very violated,” Belinda Ettelbrick, who works at the boutique, said Wednesday. “It’s just a very bad feeling. We are all very uncomfortable.”

Anyone who saw the burglary or has information about it or the suspect is asked to contact Det. Greg Dini at 776-7323.
