The California Department of Transportation will begin work Monday to cold plan and re-surface asphalt concrete pavement on Pacheco Pass Highway from 0.3 miles west of Holsclaw Road to Dunne Lane and San Felipe Road. The work is scheduled from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday through Thursday.

Construction activities could start as late as 11 p.m. Work is scheduled to be completed by early December 2009, weather permitting.

The construction area will be east of U.S. 101 and Pacheco Pass Highway near Gilroy to west of the intersection of Pacheco Pass Highway and Highway 156.

One-way reversing traffic control will be in effect during the construction period. Warning signs will be activated and flaggers will be at each end of the construction zone to safely direct traffic through the area.

Motorists are advised to slow and use caution when traveling through the area.
