The Sobrato grad went 2 for 4, including this hit, Monday against Hartnell.

Two days after Gavilan posted 20 hits against Skyline, the Rams’ bats stayed active in an 11-3 victory at Monterey Peninsula College on Monday.

The Rams scattered the MPC field with 19 hits, including five extra-base hits.

Sobrato grad Bryan Bradley, Cal Tashiro, Lyell Marks and Kenny Hall (two doubles) of Live Oak each had three hits. A fifth-inning, two-run home run was part of Julio Cortez’s 2-for-5 day, and Johnny Cox also had two hits to go with two RBIs. Tyler Oertle’s lone hit produced two runs for Gavilan  (17-14 overall, 10-9 Coast Conference).

Even with all of that, the Rams stranded 15 runners. Gavilan led 4-1 through three innings and 6-3 after five before a five-run fifth widened the gap.

Shea Adams (Sobrato) went seven strong, notching four strikeouts to earn his seventh win of the year.

The Rams host Canada at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
