Akira Endo

Mr. Endo was born on Sept. 27, 1919 in Japan and passed away on Nov. 19, 2009 at the age of 90, in San Jose, CA. He was the beloved husband of Meiko Endo for 62 years. Loving father of Michi Shimizu, Alice Schwartz and the late Sachiko Spohn and father-in-law of Gordon Shimizu, Dave Schwartz and Cliff Spohn. He had six grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Alfonso V. Jaime

Alfonso V. Jaime passed away Saturday, November 24th at the age of 83 in Hemet, California. Born in Lemoore,CA, having lived in Hollister from 1932 to 1954, when he moved to El Segundo, CA. He attended local schools in Hollister and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked for Foremost Dairy and was in charge of weights and measures for 37 years. Alfonso was preceeded in death by his wife Rachel who died in 1994, his parents, Luis and Maria Jaime and brothers Adolph and Henry Jaime. Father of Anne Turek of Pacifica, Rick Jaime of San Andreas, George Jaime of El Segundo, Cathy Nicholai of Fort Bragg, Marie DeGand of Woodland,and Mark Jaime of Smith River. Brother of Carmen Jaime of Mexico and Mae Landeros of Hollister. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Elinor K. Workman August 30, 1930 – January 19, 2017

Elinor, 86, of Gilroy passed away on January 19, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimers. She is survived by her husband Bill, of 56 years. Her children; Jeff (Kathi) of Vacaville, Kurt (Sharon) of Morgan Hill and grandchildren; Wyatt, Weston, Alex and Finn Workman.

Honest, loving and hard-working, Triffle Paul Ivancovich, born June 9, 1914, passed peacefully from this world on May 28,2011, in Cupertino at the age of 96.

Oscar W. Strong

Oscar W. Strong passed away Last Saturday at the age of 93 in Daly City. He was born in Newell, South Dakota, coming to Hollister in the early 1970s. Oscar, along with many years in carpentry work, went to work with Bechtel Construction in Saudia Arabia building oil installations, then later, went to work with the Federal Government at the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey,CA. He later had worked at the Hunter's Point shipyard in San Francisco, where he worked on refurbishing many US Navy vessels. Oscar was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge in Hollister and the Hollister Elks Lodge, BPOE 1436.

Evelyn H. Stanley Dougherty December 31, 1910 – July 12, 2012

Evelyn H. Stanley Dougherty 101, passed away peacefully at her home in Prunedale on July 13, 2012. Wife of Charles T. Dougherty (15 years) of Prunedale.

Edward J. (Eddie) Falconi

Edward J. "Eddie" Falconi passed away in Hollister at the age of 77. He was born in Hollister and lived here all of his life. He attended Union Elementary School, San Benito High School, San Benito Jr. College and San Jose State University where he received a Bachelor's Degree. He was a member of E. Clampus Vitas, Hollister Exchange Club, Hollister Elks Lodge and Sacred Heart Church. He worked for Cornell Equipment Company, Triolo Equipment Company and for many years worked at Enterprise Electric Company in Hollister where he retired from in 2005. Eddie enjoyed cooking and traveling and took many trips to Italy.
