Long time resident of Morgan Hill, Art Malmstrom passed away December 1 at his retirement home in Pioneer, California. Malmstrom and family moved to Morgan Hill in 1972 and resided there for 30 years.

Adela Castaneda-Ruiz, 86 years old, passed away on April 25, 2012 at her residence in Gilroy. She is survived by her sons and their wives, Ruben (Sofie) Acosta, Mike Acosta, Jr., Joe (Jessica) Acosta, Conrado (Irvina) Acosta, Armando (Nilda) Acosta and Ronnie Acosta.

A South County memorial is planned for Elsie on Saturday, May 2, 2009 from 2:00-4:00 P.M. at the Uesugi Farms Pumpkin Park located at 14485 Monterey Rd. in San Martin, CA.

Cheryl "Cheri" Gray went to be with the Lord on September 25, 2009 at the age of 66. She was the daughter of the late Carl "Sully" and Henrietta "Nene" Schulz. A native of Hollister, she graduated from Union School and Hollister High School in San Benito County, where she also worked as a beautician for many years. Cheri later resumed her education, obtaining a Masters Degree in Counseling from Saint Mary's College. She worked as Director of Admissions and Records at Gavilan Community College and Hartnell Community College for a total of over 30 years. She is also well known through her community involvement with the Catholic Church, Pet Friends, the SPCA, and Creative Memories.

Sandoe Hanna passed away on March 5th, 2010, at Gilroy Healthcare on Murray St., at the age of 98. Born in Gilroy, the son of Fannie Bruener Sandoe and Walter Jacob Hanna, Sandoe attended schools in Gilroy and briefly attended Stanford. The Great Depression interupted his schooling and he came home to work on his parents' farm south of Gilroy. Sandoe's wife, Mildred, preceeded him in death on January 17th, 2010. Two of his children have also passed away, Sandra (2005) and Bill (11-2009). He is survived by two sons, Roy of Gilroy and Tom of Juneau, AK (married to Kathy).
