To squelch youth crime in Gilroy, community leaders are seeking input from residents about the types of crime juveniles are getting into in their neighborhoods, and what can be done about the problem.  

Police responded to several incidents this week involving drunk driving, car theft, robbery and assault. Here are a few of those incidents:

Barring anymore surprise sentencing delays – there have been two already in the last three months – the fate of a former San Jose police officer from Gilroy charged with illegal sexual contact with two teen boys will be determined Wednesday.

Two renowned experts who have spent their entire careers profiling violent, shady criminals and analyzing human behavior say that Sierra LaMar’s likely kidnapper – or kidnappers – probably stalked the missing teen before grabbing her from the street outside her home, and the victim’s personality is the polar opposite of her captor’s - an attribute that could end up saving her life.
