Morgan Hill

Morgan Hill resident Susan Fent has been appointed as the new director of the Senior Center at the Centennial Recreation Center.

Fent is a longtime Senior Advisory Commission member, who played a lead role in defining the scope of the commission.

“I am every excited about the possibility of helping to develop a thriving program serving the seniors in our community,” Fent says.

As chairperson of the commission, Fent contributed in planning for the new senior center and assisted in establishing accessibility protocols for the special events in Morgan Hill.

The YMCA/city partnership in operating the new 52,000 square foot facility involves cooperating with Morgan Hill’s Recreation Manager and direct supervision from the Mt. Madonna YMCA’s Executive Director Debbie Cupp.

“Susan will be responsible for the supervision and operation of the on site County Senior Nutrition Program that serves lunch to over 70 seniors each day, five day a week,” Cupp says. “She will also be developing and implementing programs and services for seniors in our community.”

Fent has a master of social welfare degree with a gerontology specialization from the University of California-Berkeley, and has worked as both a senior services caseworker and care planner for older adults who were enrolled in managed health care programs in both San Francisco and the South County.
