Mary Julia Ward passed away in her home at the age of 84 on May 13, 2009. She was born to Ralph and Bennie Scurry, February 8, 1925 in Saluda, SC. She is survived by her children Margene, husband Rhon Martin of Loomis, Gregg Ward of Gilroy and Mina Ward of Morgan Hill. She was the grandmother of Stefanie, husband David Pinheiro, Kevin and Lauren Bertero, Alex Benavides and Thomas Mangano; great-grandmother of Britney Gitmed and Donavyn and Natalia Pinheiro. She is the sister-in-law of Esther Scurry of Columbia, SC and Ruth Burk of Riverside, CA and the aunt of Ralph and Grace Scurry of Irmo, SC.
Visitation services will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Friday, May 15, 2009 with the family present from 7:00 – 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Gilroy Presbyterian Church, 6000 Miller Ave., Gilroy. Burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy.
