Prospective volunteers, film festival enthusiasts and curious citizens are invited to attend an open meeting for the Poppy Jasper Film Festival on Sept. 18 at 7pm at the Holiday Inn Express on Condit Road at East Dunne Avenue in Morgan Hill.
The meeting will include committee chair reports, discussion of immediate volunteer needs, and a preview of the new festival trailer. Refreshments will be served and all returning volunteers are asked to bring two friends.
The Poppy Jasper Film Festival, slated for Nov. 10-12, is in its third year as Morgan Hill’s showcase for short films and is staffed completely by volunteers. It differs from other festivals by focusing on both sides of the camera and caters to the creators as well as the viewers. A favorite with participating filmmakers, it supports and encourages interaction with festival attendees and provides a way for the audience to go beyond the theater seat to learn about the technical and creative processes behind the lens.
