The Davis recall is a stupid idea.
First, it will not work.
This is an effort in futility.
Second, it’s not all Davis’ fault. Our state Assembly and our state Senate are tax-and-spend maniacs. They never see a program or a new regulation that they don’t like. Davis could have vetoed legislation but he was influenced by special interest groups because of his re-election.
The sound-good, feel-good regulations that he did not veto during the past four years hurt business which means less jobs and less taxes and more people on the public dole.
It costs us billions to have over half of California owned by the government and not paying taxes and 78 percent of the remaining land so regulated because of fish, flies, bugs, birds, frogs, snakes, weeds, etc. that we can’t even build an affordable house for our medium income citizens.
We are all at fault because every chance we have to vote for a tax increase bond, we vote yes. I like local bonds because we can directly control the outcome and we can pay with our own local property tax.
Let Davis solve our budget problems. Recalling him will not make a difference.
I voted for Simon, but my choice was Bill Jones, a farmer, businessman and a longtime Californian with guts and common sense.
