A Live Oak sophomore was taken Monday afternoon by medical helicopter to Stanford Medical Center after he collapsed by the pool during PE, according to Principal Nick Boden.
“He had apparently been complaining of headaches,” Boden said. “He was in the pool, and he pulled himself out on the side of the pool. He just slumped over at that point.”
The school called 9-1-1 and the teen’s parents and staff members were on site when paramedics arrived.
“They responded quickly, and we were able to keep him stabilized during that time,” Boden said. “He was transported by ambulance to the old Saint Louise Hospital site, where he was met by the helicopter.”
Boden said late Monday afternoon he had not heard how the teen was doing.
