I’m excited about the prospect of a restaurant and pub for the Morgan Hill Police station site. We’ll only become Los Gatos “south“ when we build enough vibrant nighttime destinations.
It’s a great sign that we have a couple of options to choose from. El Toro’s proposal should be selected for several reasons. El Toro offers onsite craft brewing, setting it apart from being just another bar, and furthering our town’s unique identity. Poppy Jasper anyone? The proposal also gives us what amounts to three separate draws in one; casual daytime dining and sports, evening dinner and they’ve planned for after dinner uses such as music, bands and dancing.
Restaurants with on-site craft brewing have proven to be draws throughout California. Having a nationally recognized, award-winning brewery such as El Toro will serve our downtown well and draw folks to our downtown. Gordon Biersch in San Jose is a great example.
El Toro’s proposal is the most appropriate and viable for Morgan Hill.
