MORGAN HILL INCORPORATES
Decides by Vote of Nearly
Two to One in Its Favor.
The election held last Friday to decide whether Morgan Hill should incorporate or not was carried by a vote of 65 to 36 in its favor after a hotly contested campaign. One hundred and eleven votes were cast but nine votes were not counted, the ballot having been marked with pen and ink and one voted for trustees but did not vote either for or against incorporation. The officers elected to govern the town are F. B. Bussing, C. B. Mason, Geo. R. Lynch, A. S. Votaw, and C. H. Barrett, trustees; F. L. Talbert, clerk; C. W. Stone, treasurer; and G. G. Garrett, marshal. The Board of Supervisors canvassed the returns Monday and declared the result as above stated.
Grand Concert
A Grand Concert will be given in Yeoman Hall Thursday evening, Nov. 22, under the auspices of the Epworth League of the Methodist Church. Prof. Pierre Douillett, dean of the Conservatory of Music, University of the Pacific, and without doubt the leading pianist on the Pacific coast, and Mrs. Douillett, professor of vocal music in the Conservatory and a brilliant soprano have consented to come and furnish us a rare treat in vocal and instrumental music. These artists stand at the very top of their profession, and it is not too much to say that they are the most distinguished musicians that have ever come to this town and the concert promises to be one of the finest ever heard in Morgan Hill.
