Jeeta Millar left this life on October 31, 2007 in the presence of her loving family in Morgan Hill. She was born September 25, 1921 in Durant, Oklahoma and grew up there and in Oklahoma City. She attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Oklahoma, graduating with a BA degree in Art in 1944. She and her future husband, Robert, renewed their friendship upon his return to Chickasha following WWII and were married in Chickasha on November 27, 1946.

She and Robert became the happy parents of three daughters, Susan, Virginia, and Lavenia. In 1955, the family followed in Robert’s parents’ footsteps and moved to California, settling near Hollister. In 1959 the family moved to Morgan Hill where Jeeta and Robert continued to live. Jeeta spent sixteen years teaching at P.A. Walsh Elementary School beginning in 1964 and had the unusual pleasure of teaching her youngest daughter during her year in sixth grade.

She was a talented painter and filled her home with her own and other’s artwork. She also enjoyed sculpting, drawing, dancing, singing and literature. One of her favorite activities was directing the Christmas Pageant at her local church, designing and building all the sets.

She is survived by her devoted husband Robert, her loving daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and David Banker (of Bakersfield), Virginia and Tony Rittenhouse (of San Jose), and Lavenia and Tom Heim (of San Jose), four caring grandchildren; Rob (Janel) Banker, Christopher Banker, William Rittenhouse, Sarah Rittenhouse and her great-grandchild Lorren Banker.

Family and friends are invited to St. John the Divine Episcopal Chujrch at 17740 Peak Ave, Morgan Hill at 2 P.M. on Saturday, November 3, for a memorial service. The family requests donations, in lieu of flowers, be made to St. John the Divine Episcopal Church.
