A Paso Robles man is a suspect in a kidnapping and shooting that left two men dead in the Monterey County town of San Ardo.

Juan Manuel Salazar Jr., 19, is being sought in connection with a double homicide that occurred around 10 p.m. Saturday in a home. The deceased men were identified as Hector Reyes, 33, and Daniel Fraga, 35.

The homeowner’s 16-year-old daughter, Eunice Serrato, was missing from the residence. Salazar is believed to be Serrato’s boyfriend.

He is described as 5 feet 6 inches and 170 pounds. He has brown hair and eyes, and may wear glasses. An Amber Alert warned that he may be wounded and could be armed.

Investigators believe that Salazar may be taking Serrato to Mexico against her will; an Amber Alert was placed for Serrato.

She was described in the alert as 5 feet 5 inches tall and 130 pounds. She has brown hair and eyes, and was last wearing a blue-and-white shirt, pink jacket, blue jeans and sandals. She has three tattoos: the numbers 3/10/10 on her right middle finger, the word “love” on her back, and “Vellen” on her upper right leg.

Salazar was last seen driving a blue Chevrolet Tahoe with a California license plate of 6W54124. Serrato and Salazar may be traveling with a third person, Rogelio Aviles, 21, who is described as being approximately 5 feet 5 inches, 150 to 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Aviles is known to drive a tan 2007 Honda Civic, license number 6JUK098.

Salazar’s father, Juan Manual Salazar Sr., was initially a “person of interest.” However, he turned himself in at the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office station in King City on Sunday and is no longer in custody.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office at 813-755-3772 or the TIP line at 888-833-4847.
