Same-sex marriage feature captured gay couple's reality
Dear Editor,
I love the piece the Morgan Hill Times put together on same-sex marriage. It really captured who Mark Hoffmann and Rene Spring are. Mark is my brother and best friend. I am thrilled for he and Rene. They epitomize what marriage should be, whether gay or straight. Love, honor and commitment. Thank you for honoring them on their special day.

Bush/Cheney accomplish Iraq mission
Dear Editor,
No bid contracts in Iraq for Exxon, Mobil, BP and Shell, like those that have brought excellent profits to Blackwater and Halliburton for six years, signal that the Bush, Cheney Mission in Iraq has been accomplished.
The contracts also give insight into Blair's support of the Bush Iraq program. Bush and McCain urge that the U.S. occupation of Iraq continue, so we can insure the profits to be gained by these oil companies.

Thanks for great sports coverage in the Morgan Hill Times
Dear Editor,
I would like to thank you and the entire Morgan Hill Times staff for the coverage on all Live Oak sports.
I played three sports for Live Oak, field hockey, soccer and softball. Not only was it always great to see my team's articles in the paper, but also those of my fellow classmates and friends.
The pictures were always great and it was nice to receive recognition for the hard work we put in during practice and during games. I'd also like to thank you for recognizing all the coaches who have put in so much time and effort at Live Oak so that we, the athletes, could play the sports we love.
It is well appreciated by many of the Live Oak athletes who truly enjoyed your coverage, and I hope that this coverage continues as long as there are athletes, teams and athletic events to report.

Gilroy City Council irresponsible to allow 'safe and sane' fireworks
Dear Editor,
The Gilroy City Council made an unbelievably irresponsible decision when it voted to allow so-called "safe and sane" fireworks.
Their decision completely defies logic. To put so many people and their property at risk of unintentional fire is unacceptable. To those who fundraise, I say find another product that won't be such a danger to everyone, including those who would never consider buying these products but are at the mercy of their idiotic neighbors who may choose to set them off in tinder box areas despite the dangers.
